We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused 1st Line IT Support Technician to join our Group Business Systems team. Based primarily in Telford, this role supports colleagues across multiple sites with their IT needs. It’s an exciting opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in IT who is eager to develop their career in a supportive, fast-paced environment. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, with occasional evening or weekend work to meet business needs.
Responsibilities
• Provide first-line support to colleagues across all Group properties, responding to hardware, software, and user access issues.
• Monitor and manage the IT helpdesk, ensuring tickets are prioritised and resolved promptly.
• Carry out routine maintenance checks on IT equipment including PCs, printers, copiers, and desk phones.
• Act as the first point of contact for WiFi requests and client IT support during visits.
• Assist with installation, configuration, and relocation of IT equipment and peripherals.
• Maintain and update technical documentation, support guides, and the IT asset register.
• Support the upkeep of VoIP and mobile phone systems, including new equipment rollouts.
• Coordinate with third-party IT providers and software vendors for issue resolution.
• Contribute to the smooth running of events by setting up external IT requirements.
• Adhere to company health, safety, and compliance policies at all times.
Skills and Experience
• Minimum Level 4 GCSE in English and Maths (essential); Level 3 IT qualification (desirable).
• Strong desire to learn and develop IT knowledge across a variety of platforms.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small IT team with energy and commitment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues and clients.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple open cases.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Professional approach with high levels of discretion and confidentiality.
• Full driving licence and access to a car (highly desirable).
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
