Join us as a Digital Release Train Engineer
- We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join our Digital Investments domain within Wealth Chief Digital Information Office (WCDIO)

What you'll do
In this key role, you’ll be developing and maintaining the release train. This will include the preparation and review of the release and environment strategy, involving plans and estimation, and management of interdependencies. With your vital leadership, you’ll provide cross-team synchronisation, making sure everyone has a clear understanding of how their work helps our customers.
You’ll lead on continuous improvement across delivery via various channels, including improving or removing manual steps, and we’ll look to you to demonstrably improve release train agility and value to end state customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Development and maintenance of the domain’s Agile Release Train (ART), including the preparation and review of release and environment strategy, including plans and estimations, management of inter dependencies, and providing cross-team synchronisation to ensure teams have a clear understanding of how their work helps the customer
- Enhancing deployment and management phases of the development lifecycle, including through Agile coaching and active contribution to release and environment best practice
- Facilitating and fostering the preparation of release and sprint vision, goals and work pipelines and facilitating pre and post planning meetings
- Building and communicating release calendars and iterative planning cycles and synchronising with other release train managers across domains
- Aggregating the programme release objectives into value streams release objectives where they exist and publishing them for visibility and transparency
- Assisting with the economic decision-making by facilitating estimation by teams and the roll up to programme and portfolio levels
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for someone with an expert understanding of running complex projects spanning multiple scrum and non-scrum teams. You’ll also need high proficiency with Jira and Confluence and will be required to hold a professional certificate in Agile methodologies or Project Management such as SAFE, SCRUM or PMP.
In addition, you’ll need to be a proactive learner with strong commitment to personal and professional development, with a willingness to evolve in a dynamic environment, along with being innovative, striving for improvement and leading by example.
You’ll also need:
- Expert level knowledge and proven proficiency with scaled Agile and P3M tools and methodologies spanning value stream, portfolio, programme and team levels
- Proven leadership and coaching skills with the ability to inspire and support Agile teams
- Strong servant leadership capabilities along with the ability to create and share a vision in-line with the bank’s
- Proven experience in engaging and influencing both business and technical partners to facilitate meaningful and productive conversations
- Proven experience of managing multiple cross-functional teams to deliver business value, with a history of successful software project outcomes
