An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Trust as a substantive Consultant Clinical Oncologist covering Upper GI, Hepatic-Pancreatic-Biliary (HPB) and Lung cancer. The post-holder will work alongside medical and clinical oncology colleagues at the Royal Free and Barnet Hospital health units and will be essential for service provision as well as the lead the development of the Upper GI radiotherapy service. Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team; have a wide experience in Clinical Oncology but in particular in Upper GI, HPB and lung cancer management with an interest in complex radiotherapy techniques such as SABR. The core responsibilities of the post holder will be as follow: 1. To develop and support the Upper GI/HPB SABR service at Royal Free and Barnet hospital health units. 2. To support the ongoing development and delivery of lung chemoradiotherapy and lung SABR across the Royal Free and Barnet health units. 3. To attend weekly tumour specific lung and upper GI/HPB MDTs. 4. To attend the weekly SABR MDTs. 5. To cover the Liver SIRT MDT up to 10 times per year. 6. To take responsibility for the designated clinical workload including all relevant MDMs and out-patient clinics. 7.To take part in radiotherapy clinical trials in lung and upper GI/HPB cancer at Royal Free health unit. 8. To partake in an acute oncology ward round on alternate weeks at Barnet Hospital. 9. To participate in the radiotherapy (1 in 8) and acute oncology (1 in 18) on call rota for The Royal Free health unit. 10. To attend monthly consultant departmental meetings. 11. To provide postgraduate teaching for junior staff. 12. To provide clinical supervision for specialist registrars. 13. To participate in undergraduate medical student teaching. 14. To comply with all the clinical governance processes and procedures of the Trust. 15. Compliance with Patients’ Charter and Purchasers’ requirements.16. To lead and participate in medical audit as per Royal College of Physicians guidelines.
