35 hours per week, term time working 38 weeks per year

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Mentor to provide high-quality pastoral support, working with children, families, and staff to remove barriers to learning and promote the wellbeing of pupils.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supporting the pastoral care function within school and contributing to pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
- Providing one-to-one mentoring and small-group sessions to improve confidence, self-esteem, and engagement.
- Identifying and working with pupils who are vulnerable or at risk of underachievement, and developing tailored support plans.
- Building positive and effective relationships with parents, carers, staff, and outside agencies to support pupil progress.
- Leading attendance across school.
- Supporting behaviour and inclusion.
- Planning and delivering workshops, enrichment opportunities and community-based initiatives.
- Contributing to safeguarding, child protection and the recording/monitoring of pupil welfare.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Experience of working with children and young people in an educational or pastoral setting.
- An understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management and inclusion.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
- Patience, empathy and resilience when working with children and families.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
- A relevant Level 3/4 qualification (or equivalent experience).
