Summary
The post holder will be expected to provide high quality care to patients in the Paediatric Intensive Care, and to provide outreach services to children at risk of deterioration in the inpatient paediatric areas at St Marys Hospital. They will also contribute to the research, teaching and training activities on the Intensive Care unit, including providing educational and clinical supervision. The post holder will work with medical, nursing and managerial colleagues to ensure the continued high performance of the intensive care unit and will share responsibility for junior staff management. They will be expected to participate in governance activities and strategy and business planning activities of the department. The post holder will need to demonstrate excellent leadership skills. They will be expected to undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of their patients. The post holder must be available by telephone and be able to attend the hospital within approximately 30 minutes when on call. The post holder will be expected to participate in the appraisal process and relevant continuous medical education. The post holder will be required to participate in clinical care of patients with high consequence infectious diseases. Please see the attached job description for full details of the role.
