We are looking for a Payroll Service Coordinator to join our team on a 9-month fixed-term contract.
In this role, you’ll be the first line of support for all employee payroll queries, ensuring they are logged, tracked, and resolved efficiently.
There is potential for progression or a permanent role for the right candidate.
Job Description
As Payroll Service Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional payroll customer service to our team, while gaining valuable experience in a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Field first-line payroll queries via the query management system, calls, and emails from employees
Log, resolve, or assign queries in line with departmental SLAs
Monitor and chase outstanding queries daily
Deliver a high-quality payroll customer service experience in collaboration with the wider payroll team
Support the payroll service manager with ad hoc duties during key payroll periods
Share information and best practices with internal teams, identifying query trends to address root causes
Manage password reset requests
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Strong customer service background, ideally from a call centre or phone-based role
Confident handling high volumes of inbound queries with clear and professional responses
Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to explain payroll processes simply and supportively
Accurate administrative skills, including logging queries, updating systems, and following processes
High attention to detail when inputting and managing employee information
Collaborative team player, supporting payroll and HR colleagues
Proficient in Outlook, Excel, and HR/payroll systems (training can be provided)
