As an Improvement Officer your role will be multi-faceted; you will provide supervision and support to the operational team leaders within the services for Children and Families social work as well as working at a strategic level to support the Service to develop and implement Improvement Plans in line with national and local drivers.
Some of this work will involve you taking the lead role when working across the partnerships to agree and develop pathways towards improvement.
This is an exciting role in that it involves the combination of working at a strategic level to influence and implement different ways of working in children's services as well as being involved in guiding and supporting practice.
Although you will be centrally based, this role involves you working across the Perth and Kinross Council area.
Skills & Experience Required
We are seeking a confident and experienced social work manager with significant knowledge of childcare and protection.
You must be able to function independently as well as be part of a team.
We are seeking a manager who is able to nurture the development of new Team Leaders by empowering and supporting planning and decision making at an operational level.
You must have experience / ability to work alongside partners to identify, recommend and make systemic changes where required.
You need to be flexible in your thinking and be able to embrace and implement change where required.
Essential Skills & Experience Required
- Significant knowledge and experience of front line social work practice with children and families, including child protection.
- Experience of first line management tasks.
- Effective multi agency working.
- Evidence of ability to lead and motive teams.
- Evidence of implementing quality assurance effectively.
- Evidence of performance monitoring, tam planning and identification of improvement actions and their subsequent implementation.
- Evidence of delivering improvement in culture, systems and practice.
- Ability to chair complex meetings of an operational nature-- including Child Protection Planning Meetings.
