Summary
Driver Hire Edinburgh City are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Bin Lorry Driver to join a busy waste management team in the East Lothian area. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced drivers looking for stable, long-term work — but we’ll also consider newly qualified drivers with a positive, “can do” attitude who are eager to learn.

12-week temp-to-perm – opportunity for a permanent role after probation

Key Responsibilities:
Operate a Class 2 (Category C) bin lorry safely and efficiently on assigned collection routes
Work closely with loaders and other team members to complete waste and recycling collections in a timely manner
Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and complete relevant paperwork
Adhere to all road safety and company operational policies
Represent the business professionally when interacting with members of the public or customers
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
Class 2 (Category C) HGV Licence
Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
Desirable:
Previous bin lorry or waste management experience
Local route knowledge
Personality & Attitude:
Reliable, punctual, and physically fit for the demands of the job
Team player with a positive work ethic
Willingness to work in all weather conditions
Shifts & Hours:
4 on / 4 off shift pattern
Early morning starts
Full-time hours available
