Summary

Are you passionate about helping children overcome challenges and experience those "lightbulb moments" in literacy and numeracy?

Do you thrive on variety and enjoy adapting your skills to support different year groups, from energetic Year 1 classes to focused Year 6 pupils?

Are you ready to take control of your work schedule, choosing assignments across Leeds that fit seamlessly around your life commitments?

Randstad Education is seeking dynamic and adaptable Primary Teaching Assistants for flexible supply roles in a wide range of primary schools across Leeds. This is the perfect opportunity for individuals who want to make a significant impact in the classroom without the commitment of a permanent contract.

As a Supply TA, you will be crucial in supporting learning across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. One day you might be supporting phonics development in Year 1, and the next day assisting with small group maths interventions for Year 5.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Classroom Support: Assist the class teacher with delivering engaging lessons, preparing resources, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

  • Small Group Interventions: Lead targeted sessions in literacy and numeracy to support pupils who require extra help or extension challenges.

  • Adaptable Assistance: Confidently support children across the primary age range (KS1 and KS2), adjusting your approach to meet varying needs and learning styles.

  • Behaviour Management: Uphold school policies by promoting positive behaviour, encouraging focus, and supporting pupils' social and emotional development.

  • Flexibility: Seamlessly integrate into new school teams, quickly building rapport with pupils and staff.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:
  • A relevant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) or substantial, recent experience working within a primary school setting.

  • Strong knowledge of the UK primary curriculum, including experience with phonics schemes (for KS1) and core subject support strategies (for KS2).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage children effectively.

  • A proactive, reliable, and adaptable nature.

  • An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or the willingness to obtain one through Randstad.

Why Choose Randstad Education?
  • Competitive Pay Rates: We offer excellent daily rates paid weekly via PAYE.

  • Ultimate Flexibility: Manage your own diary through our easy-to-use app, choosing when and where you work.

  • Dedicated Support: Receive guidance from a specialist consultant who understands the Leeds education sector and is committed to finding you suitable placements.

  • Variety of Experience: Gain valuable experience in diverse school environments across the city.

  • Referral Rewards: Benefit from our refer-a-friend scheme.
