Summary

Role: Line Leader
Shift options: 6am – 2pm OR 2pm – 10pm (none rotating, two open roles)

Pay rates:
• AM shift - £12.46 starting hourly rate, increasing to £12.71 once experienced in role and able to run lines multiple lines without supervision
• PM shift - £13.01 starting hourly rate, increasing to £13.26 once experienced in role and able to run lines multiple lines without supervision (increase of £0.50 per hour for any hours worked after 6pm)

About the role:
This position is within a busy manufacturing environment where products are produced to meet strict quality and safety standards. The operation is fast-paced, and teamwork is essential to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. The Line Leader plays a key role in coordinating staff, maintaining efficiency, and ensuring compliance across the production process.

Job purpose:
The Line Leader is responsible for overseeing operations on the production line, ensuring that production targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. Working closely with the Supervisor, the Line Leader coordinates and supports the team to ensure smooth running of the manufacturing process.

Duties / areas of responsibility:
• Set up and operate production lines, liaising with technical support when required
• Allocate tasks to production line workers
• Lead and supervise a team of production staff (both permanent and temporary) to achieve targets
• Manage and coach team members in completing tasks effectively and in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Ensure full compliance with policies and industry standards, including Quality, Health & Safety, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
• Make effective use of team resources, including during periods of downtime
• Train and mentor new staff on processes, procedures, and safety requirements
• Oversee the maintenance of equipment and machinery to minimise downtime
• Monitor line performance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Work collaboratively with other teams to meet production deadlines and order requirements
• Carry out quality checks and complete all relevant documentation to monitor efficiency and performance
• Respond quickly to production line issues and implement solutions with the support of Supervisors and Engineers
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment
