Summary

South Lanarkshire Justice Social Work are seeking a full time permanent Social Worker for our Rutherglen Justice locality team. The locality Justice teams provide
supervision; risk assessment and management; support and intervention for individuals who have been convicted of offences and are subject to statutory supervision.
This is a challenging and rewarding role combining public protection with rehabilitation for individuals with often complex needs to promote long term positive
outcomes.
Duties of the post include completion of analytical and concise Justice Social Work Reports for the Court; effective supervision of individuals based on National
Outcomes and Standards; ongoing assessment of risk and need including the proper application of structured assessment tools; forming productive relationships with
service users to promote good outcomes and working effectively in a multi-agency setting.
We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic and skilled practitioner to provide a professional service to our service user groups. Up to date experience in Justice Social
Work is preferred but not essential. Final year students must be qualified within 2 months of submitting their application form.
The successful candidate will have a Social Work degree with knowledge of Justice Services and a clear understanding of risk assessment and management. The ability
to priorities your workload and sound assessment and writing and communication skills are also essential for this post. You will be expected to record and monitor work
using electronic case recording systems. The successful candidate will work with individuals who have been convicted of a wide variety of offences including those of a
sexual and domestic nature. It is essential that you are committed to working with our service users in a pro-active and non-judgemental manner in the community to
address their risks and needs and promote public safety.
South Lanarkshire Justice Services require all successful applicants to undertake Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) at a minimum of level 2. This is due to the
requirement to access the Violent and Sex Offender Register (ViSOR ) information system.
