What's involved with this role:

Job Title: Finance Business Partner

Ref: NW Leicestershire 5275463

Pay rate: £370 - £444 per day PAYE (TBC)

Role length: Anticipated 3 months

Working arrangements: Hybrid working – once a month in the office



The role:

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Finance Business Partner to deliver financial accounting and drive performance improvements through effective financial monitoring, advice and support by partnering with services.

Experience and knowledge of accounting for Housing Revenue Accounts is essential for this role.



Key responsibilities:

Champion excellent management of financial resources, promoting probity, efficiency, high performance and overall value for money with service areas
Build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with team managers and their teams
Produce month end financial monitoring and lead services in undertaking regular and timely review and challenges
Support and advise strategic and operational decision-making, driving commercial opportunities and better business performance
Undertake specific duties as part of the production of the annual statement of accounts
Support key projects with the provision of financial advice



What the client is looking for:

AAT qualified (or equivalent) with a minimum of three years post qualification experience within a financial environment or substantial relevant demonstrable experience in finance
Experience and knowledge of accounting for Housing Revenue Accounts
Local government finance experience
Experience of budget preparation and monitoring
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Customer focused and able to build rapport and maintain good relationships with all customers and partners, i.e. internal and external
Problem solver, able to identify resolutions and effective ways forward
Experience/understanding of statutory accounting and reporting requirements
A sound understanding of general accounting principles
Experience in the use of MS Excel and MS Word (or equivalent) and integrated financial systems
Ability to interpret and advise on financial and performance data
