Full-Time | Term-Time Only | Start: September 2025 | Earn up to £570 per Week

A progressive and inclusive secondary school in Birmingham is seeking motivated and academically strong STEM graduates to join their team as Graduate STEM Teaching Assistants from September 2025.

About the Role – Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant

As a Graduate STEM Teaching Assistant, you'll be an essential part of the teaching team, supporting students across subjects such as:

  • Maths


  • Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)


  • Computer Science


  • Engineering


    Working closely with experienced educators, you’ll help deliver engaging lessons, run small group interventions, and guide students through their GCSE and A-Level preparations.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide 1:1 and small group academic interventions to support student progress


    • Assist with lesson planning, classroom activities, and learning resources


    • Help students build confidence and problem-solving skills in STEM subjects


    • Support exam preparation and study strategies


    • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and focused learning environment


    • Gain practical experience with different teaching approaches and student needs


      Who We’re Looking For

      We’re looking for enthusiastic and committed graduates who:

      • Hold (or are predicted) a 2:1 or above in a STEM-related degree (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Engineering)


      • Are strong communicators and confident explaining subject material clearly


      • Are organised, dependable, and passionate about supporting student learning


      • Ideally have prior experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, outreach programmes)


      • Are considering a future in teaching, education, or academic research
