This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization.

We pay an attractive salary of £28,598 - £31,022 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The role is to provide a service to children, young people, their families or carers within their placements or community, which includes direct work with children and young people.

Support Workers assist and support qualified officers in the discharge of the statutory obligations of the authority in relation to children and young people who may be “looked after”, or the subject of a care and support plan.

Case management responsibility will be allocated in appropriate circumstances for children and young people who have care and support needs. This will include assessment, planning and review for those children and young people.

The successful applicant would need to have good time management and organisational skills and have the right values, motivation, and commitment to work in a challenging, yet rewarding environment.

For the role, we ask that you have:

A Level 2 Care or equivalent qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales (CQFW).
An understanding of children and young people’s behaviour, and the need for support and intervention in some circumstances.
Experience of working with people in complex situations.
A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings.

We have excellent benefits including the Local Government Pension Scheme, agile working patterns and staff discount schemes.
