Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a committed and vibrant higher level teaching assistant who has a passion for supporting/delivering learning to pupils with Speech & Language difficulties. They should be able to support the teacher with specific SLCN provision, so that it can be achieved alongside a child-centred EYFS/KS1 curriculum. We require the teaching assistant to hold a HLTA or equivalent qualification.
We are seeking to appoint a full-time, term-time, permanent EYFS/KS1 higher level teaching assistant, from January 2026. Experience of teaching pupils with Speech and language needs is desirable, but not essential. However, the ability to adapt learning and use initiative is essential , as is a good knowledge of SEND provision and the importance of inclusion. Early excellence knowledge would also be beneficial. A keen interest in continuous provision, forest Schools and play based learning is also something we would like to find in the ideal candidate.
What the school offers its staff
Elveden C of E Primary Academy is a small, rural school on the outskirts of Thetford and Brandon. We are very welcoming and friendly, with excellent relationships with our parents and wider community. We currently have 105 pupils on roll and will be growing to 123 with an exciting expansion in progress. Within the unit the pupils on roll will be 18.
