Fixed Term up to 31 March 2028

An exciting opportunity has arisen to develop a career in Social Care administration. We currently have a vacancy for a Social Work Support Officer, working within Children's Social Care services in Bridgend supporting the Edge of Care Service. This post will be required to work 33 hours per week and the working pattern will be:

Monday to Thursday - 9.00am to 5.00pm

Friday - 9.30am to 3.30pm

You would provide a range of administrative support functions working closely with a range of practitioners within the Edge of Care Service, to enable them to meet its obligations and provide timely and effective services, to families and children.

As a Social Work Support Officer, you will assist a team of practitioners within the service on a daily basis, working closely with them to deliver effective administrative support in line with requirements as well as agreed departmental standards and procedures.

You will be confident and pro-active, not afraid to use your initiative, with excellent organisation and communication skills. The role requires candidates to possess experience in administrative and/or financial practices/procedures.

Experience of minute taking, or a willingness to learn this skill is required.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

The council's Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post. This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.
