PERSON SPECIFICATION CONSULTANT MEDICAL ONCOLOGY Gastro-intestinal Cancers 10PAs ESSENTIAL (E) DESIRABLE (D) ASSESSED THROUGH: APPLICATION FORM (A) INTERVIEW (I) Royal Free World Class Values Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values E A/ I Education and Professional Qualifications Possession of MBBS or equivalent medical qualification E A Membership of the Royal College of Physicians E A Accreditation by the RCP or be within 6 months of obtaining CCT (or equivalent) at time of interview E A Eligible for GMC registration and entry onto the GMC Specialist Register in the area of Medical Oncology E A Post graduate medical degree eg MD / PhD D A Experience Experience and commitment to multi-disciplinary working E A/I Wide experience in oncology E A/I Experience of Gastrointestinal Oncology E A/I Experience and an interest in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching E A/I Clinical audit experience E A/I Clinical Trials experience E A/I Experience of acute oncology E A/I Proven clinical ability in Medical Oncology E A/I The ability to work as a member of a collaborative group E A/I The authority, decision-making skills needed to lead a multi-disciplinary team in a complex environment E A/I The ability to promote teamwork and motivate colleagues E A/I Ability to organise and prioritise workload to delegate responsibly as appropriate and to supervise doctors in training and other staff E A/I Willingness to be personally accountable for actions E A/I Ability and commitment to teach in a clinical setting E A/I Leadership skills and the ability to take forward service developments E A/I Excellent communication skills verbal and written.
