Neway International are seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our client based with Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council

Location: Courthouse Street, Coroners Office | 37 hours/week | Admin & Clerical 14 Sept – ongoing | £12.21 PAYE / £15.95 Umbrella

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is seeking a calm, empathetic, and highly organised Administrative Assistant to support the Coroners Office during a period of transition. This temporary role offers a meaningful opportunity to serve the community with dignity and professionalism.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be the first point of contact for bereaved families, Funeral Directors, Hospitals, and other key stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:

Answering and fielding sensitive telephone calls and emails with care and discretion

Providing clear, compassionate guidance while maintaining professional boundaries

Managing administrative tasks with precision, including data entry, filing, and correspondence

Supporting the wider team with time-critical duties in a fast-paced environment

Promoting excellent customer care and upholding the Council’s values

What You’ll Bring
Proven customer service experience, especially in emotionally sensitive settings

Strong telephone and admin skills, with a calm and reassuring communication style

Ability to listen attentively, ask the right questions, and respond appropriately

Confidence managing conflicting priorities and staying composed under pressure

A commitment to confidentiality, empathy, and professionalism

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30
