Summary

The Government Car Service provides vehicles and drivers to multiple Government Departments and Ministers. Operating with 90 drivers and fully operational workshops GCS is based in London SE1 and is a self contained organisation operating within the Government Security Group.

These are exciting times for GCS with large changes to the service envisaged and this is a fantastic opportunity to take on a role working at the heart of Government, at times working directly with Government Ministers.

To be a part of the changing face of Government operations is both an exciting and challenging opportunity.

Reporting to the newly appointed Operations and Commercial Accounts Manager, you will support the GCS operations team. Principle responsibilities will be the GCS invoicing function, the administration of Driver GPC cards (approx. 80 in number), the administration of parking fines & penalty notices, the maintenance and updating of the various passes held by Drivers Also, to assist the Operations and Contracts Manager in the maintenance and updating of the existing customer contracts and Service Level Agreements.

In addition, general administrative tasks to assist the wider operations team and the preparedness to stand in for Briefing Officers when required at times of staff leave or other absences.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Invoicing & Credit Control using CO financial systems. (Training will be given);
  • Ensuring all Driver passes are up to date and renewed in time;
  • Administration of driver Government Procurement Cards;
  • Administration of all Notices of Intended Prosecutions;
  • Assist in ensuring all customer SLA’s are updated;
  • Potentially provide cover for Briefing and or Operations Officers when required (Training will be given).
