We are looking for a dedicated and experienced safeguarding professional to join our team as Senior Safeguarding and Student Welfare Officer. Acting as Deputy to the Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the wellbeing, safety and inclusion of every student is at the heart of school life.

In this key position, you will support the DSL in managing all aspects of safeguarding and child protection, including overseeing records, triaging concerns through MyConcern, and ensuring that effective action is taken swiftly and appropriately. You will also work closely with pastoral staff, counsellors, and house teams to provide joined-up support for students, ensuring they have access to the right help at the right time.

Beyond case management, you will take a proactive approach to raising awareness across the school community. This includes delivering safeguarding training, producing regular updates and resources for staff and students, and contributing to initiatives that promote positive mental health and wellbeing. Your work will be central in creating an environment where students feel safe, heard and understood.

Collaboration will be at the heart of your role. You will liaise with external agencies, families and professionals to secure the best outcomes for young people, while offering guidance and reassurance to colleagues on safeguarding matters. With empathy, professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility, you will help maintain a culture of openness and trust where safeguarding is prioritised by all.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with expertise in safeguarding and a passion for student welfare to make a tangible impact. If you are a confident communicator with the ability to inspire confidence in others and a commitment to the highest standards of safeguarding, we would love to hear from you.
