Summary

1:1 Teaching Assistant - SEMH School Trust - Central Birmingham (Multiple Locations)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term
Pay: From £90 per day (PAYE - no umbrella deductions)

Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning? Long Term Futures is working in partnership with a trust of specialist SEMH schools in central Birmingham to recruit experienced and resilient Teaching Assistants. These schools support students aged 11-16 who have social, emotional, and behavioural needs, many of whom require 1:1 support to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience of working with challenging behaviours who is committed to making a meaningful difference in a supportive, structured environment.

Your Role

Provide consistent 1:1 support for students with SEMH needs, helping them engage with learning

What We're Looking For

Previous experience supporting young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour - essential

A calm, patient, and resilient approach to managing difficult situations

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust quickly

Confidence in supporting students who may display high levels of anxiety or emotional dysregulation

A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is an advantage, but experience and the right attitude are what really matter
