Qualifications Lead - Remote with reasonable in-person meetings (approx. 9-12 a year)

We are looking for a Qualifications Lead to manage the development, delivery, and quality assurance of qualifications and
assessments. You will lead assessor recruitment and training, ensure compliance and accuracy in awarding, analyse performance
data, and support stakeholders. This role includes maintaining documentation, managing enquiries, and driving continuous
improvement.




The role:

* To recruit, contract, train and monitor assessors in accordance with CILEX procedures.
* To lead the development and review of CILEX assessment materials ensuring materials are valid, reliable, fair and fit for
purpose
* To deliver accurate learner results by ensuring marking, standardisation, monitoring, moderation, internal quality assurance
and awarding are carried out promptly and compliantly
* To analyse statistical data and evidence to inform the awarding process
* To monitor qualification performance, including learner achievement, assessment outcomes, and centre feedback
* To monitor enquiries about results, investigating issues which arise and escalating significant issues to senior colleagues
* To act as a member of CILEX appeals and malpractice panels
* To ensure all internal and external customer-facing documentation is accurate and up to date - including specifications, sample
assessments, assessor handbooks, assessor reports and other materials supporting CILEX qualifications
* To ensure quality assurance policies and procedures are compliant with regulatory requirements, fit for purpose and understood
and followed by all those involved in qualification and assessment development and delivery
* To contribute towards continuous quality improvement, collaborating with colleagues and taking responsibility for reviewing and
updating processes
* To support internal and external stakeholders regarding CILEX qualifications and assessments providing support and guidance
* To act as a point of escalation and resolution for qualification and assessment queries and issues, resolving issues in
accordance with CILEX procedures
* To understand the needs and requirements of CILEX stakeholders and to support improvements with the service and qualifications
we provide
* To monitor the budget in relation to assigned qualifications and report to senior colleagues
* To produce reports for the Head of Awarding Body and CILEX committees and panels
* To contribute to the monitoring, management and mitigation of risks, issues, and conflicts of interest
* To undertake any other duties of a similar level and responsibility as may be required from time to time




Any work which you undertake that in any way engages with CILEX Regulation Ltd (CRL), the independent regulator of CILEX members,
should be conducted in a manner that is compliant with the LSB’s Internal Governance Rules (IGRs).

What we're looking for:

Essential:

* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Experience of managing assessment development and quality assurance for an awarding organisation, professional body or
education establishment
* Experience of using online assessment applications to deliver assessments, for example, TestReach, Surpass, Pearson VUE
* Experience of conducting data analysis to evaluate assessment performance
* Experience of managing teams of external assessors
* Proven experience of working with stakeholders of varying levels of seniority



Desirable:

* A qualification at Level 3 or above in qualification/assessment principles and practice
* A legal qualification
* Experience of assessment development and quality assurance for a range of different assessment methods such as multiple-choice
tests, closed book exams, case studies, projects, professional discussion and interviews
* Experience of End Point Assessment for apprenticeships
* Experience of delivering training and leading standardisation activities for teams of assessors
* Experience of Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and CCEA regulatory conditions and DfE requirements for apprenticeships

* High-level problem-solving skills with the ability to own and investigate complex issues, defining problems, collecting data
and establishing facts to reach evidence based, practical solutions
* Demonstrates a can-do mindset and maintains optimism, even when faced with challenges
* Supportive and encouraging of others, contributing to a supportive and enjoyable team culture
* Excellent attention to detail and high-level proof-reading skills with ability to spot errors and inconsistencies quickly and
effectively
* Able to build, develop, and sustain positive relationships with customers, stakeholders, and colleagues.
* Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, tasks and new ideas, adopting a flexible attitude
* Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external
customers and stakeholders through proactive interaction
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) with the ability to use a range of Excel formulae
