Summary
Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them succeed in education? De Aston School is looking for a committed and caring **Education Welfare Officer** to join our outstanding pastoral team.
This is a rewarding role where you’ll work directly with students, families, and external agencies to improve attendance and engagement—making a real difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse student attendance data using Bromcom.
- Liaise with parents/carers to investigate absences and support re-engagement.
- Lead attendance panel meetings and prepare documentation for referrals and legal proceedings.
- Collaborate with internal staff and external agencies to support student welfare.
- Maintain accurate records of admissions, leavers, and interventions.
What We’re Looking For
- A’ Levels (or equivalent) and 5 GCSEs including English and Maths.
- Minimum 6 months’ relevant experience in education, youth work, or welfare.
- Strong communication, organisational, and ICT skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and multi-agency working is desirable.
