West College Scotland is part of CLIC (Colleges Local Innovation Centres) - a network that connects our college to local businesses to help them develop their skills and take forward new ideas to improve their business.
As CLIC Project Assistant, you will assist and support the CLIC Project Lead and help us to:
• Help promote the exciting opportunities available to local businesses
• Report on how the project is progressing
• Help with research and data analysis
• Help the team coordinate events and workshops
• Assist with evaluating what results the project has achieved
What Skills Do You Need to Apply?
The successful candidate will have:
• Good writing skills
• Basic digital literacy skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, internet research)
• Good personal communication and organisational skills
• A willingness to learn and work as part of a small team
Training and mentoring will be provided to the successful candidate. The work placement will take place at the Paisley Campus, with some hybrid working may be involved.

• Lives in East Renfrewshire.
• Is aged 16–67 and currently not in education, employment, or training.
• Is curious, enthusiastic, and ready to learn.
• Enjoys working with others and trying new things.
• Is organised, reliable, and open to feedback.
In your role, you will gain invaluable skills for your future.
This is a Funded Work Placement for a Project Assistant (CLIC) which is being supported by funding from the Scottish Government No One Left Behind programme and administered by East Renfrewshire Council to create opportunities for local residents who are unemployed and facing barriers to employment.
The post is open to East Renfrewshire residents who are unemployed, 16 to 67 years of age, economically inactive and who have additional barriers to employment including parents from targeted priority groups. Please note that eligibility will need to be verified by registration with a Work EastRen Client Adviser. This will be arranged via the employability team – contact at worker@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk.
