Role – Team Leader (Justice Services) Location - GCHSCP, North East Localities, Parkhead Hub, 1251 Glagsow, Duke St, Glasgow, G31 5NZ and Westerhouse Road, 1250 Easterhouse Road, Glasgow G34 9EA Contract Status – Permanent Hours - Full Time 35hrs and Part Time 17.5 hours Glasgow is a thriving and vibrant city and excellent opportunities exist to join us and contribute towards helping all our neighbourhoods flourish. The Glasgow City Health & Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) is on a journey to radically change the way in which Social Work delivers support and services. We have a large range of services that require to work effectively together, we work in full partnership with our health colleagues and a broad range of partners and we have a key priority in relation to shifting the balance of care across both service areas and promoting more effective early intervention and preventative supports. The Team Leader within Justice Services has a key role in the delivery of the Justice Statutory Social Work function. They have direct line management responsibility for Qualified Social Work and Social Care staff and the allocation and supervision of Through care licenses, Supervised Release Orders and Community Payback Orders. The post involves risk management and planning around high risk offenders – some of which fall under MAPPA processes You will work closely with a broad range of partners within Justice Services including Police Scotland, Court, Health and voluntary services with the aim being to promote and engage clients in effective offence focused work, preventative and recovery supports and early interventions to reduce the risk of re-offending. We are seeking an energetic, talented, resilient and committed Team Leader to secure these outcomes. You will have sound knowledge of assessment and care management; have practiced extensively under the relevant legislation; and work in a person centred manner which will be fully embedded in your practice. You will be confident in managing risk and looking for innovative ways to promote independence and link people into the local community. Applicants must possess a Degree / Diploma in Social Work and be able to demonstrate commitment to CPD. Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks. Registration to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is an essential requirement for this role. You must either be already registered or have applied within 3 months and be registered within 6 months from your start date. Please note as part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees. These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended). Interviews are likely to take place week commencing 22nd September.
