The Role
Are you caring, person centred and committed to helping people maximise their benefit entitlement? If so, we are looking to recruit a Visiting Officer who will work as part of the Welfare Rights Service and Visiting team to promote benefit take-up.
The role of the Visiting Officer is to support people to claim their full benefit entitlement to relevant benefits by completing paper or online forms. The role requires visiting vulnerable people by appointment in their homes or community spaces.
About You
You will be able to advise on the full range of benefits available to residents, particularly vulnerable or disabled people and pensioners to assist them with the claiming process
You will be able to work on your own initiative and be comfortable with lone working. You must have the ability to communicate clearly with people of all levels and explain a customer’s needs clearly in their benefit applications.
You must have a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle to undertake this role, and will receive an additional allowance as an essential car user as a result.
