Fixed Term up to 24 months

The Business Support Team provides administrative support to a range of front-line services and teams within the Social Services and Wellbeing Directorate across both Adults and Childrens Social Care.

We are offering an opportunity for someone to join the Children's Social Care Division and follow an apprenticeship programme which will give you the skills and experience to pursue a career in business administration.

We are looking to recruit a Business Support Apprentice who will assist in providing clerical support to our MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) based in Civic Offices, Bridgend. Our MASH is the single point of contact for all professionals and citizens to raise safeguarding concerns. We will provide you with on the job training and experience as part of the Administrative Apprentice Framework, including the achievement of a QCF Level 3 qualification in Business Administration. Your duties will involve updating and retrieving information from the WCCIS Database and electronic document management system and dealing with telephone queries from member of the public and partner agencies.

You will need to be a strong team player with excellent ICT skills, an experience of using Microsoft Office products, supported by a good standard of education is essential. You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. An experience of using information and administrative systems would be an advantage. In addition, the role also requires good analytical skills, self-motivation and good multi-tasking skills.

**Applicants will not be considered for those who have already achieved a qualification, at an equivalent or higher level in same subject area, including degree level. Also, applicants currently in receipt of WG funding for study purposes will not be able to be considered.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

A vetting check by South Wales Police is a requirement for this post.
