Salary: £15,704 per year (Year 1), rising to £20,800 in Year 2 subject to satisfactory progress and performance
Location: Royston, SG8
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm
23-month apprenticeship with the opportunity for permanent employment - post-apprenticeship salary: £26,000 per year
About The Role:
The company hiring a Construction Support Technician Apprentice to join their team within the construction industry. This programme provides a structured introduction to the commercial and technical side of construction, focusing on estimating, project coordination, and cost planning. You’ll gain valuable insight into how projects are priced, planned, and delivered, while working towards a Level 3 Construction Support Technician Apprenticeship and a BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop analytical, commercial, and technical skills in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Responsibilities Include:
• Supporting the coordination of construction projects alongside technical and supervisory teams
• Assisting with tenders, estimates, and cost planning
• Liaising with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
• Reviewing and maintaining accurate project records and documentation
• Supporting procurement of materials, plant, and subcontractors
• Using digital construction processes and systems (including CAD and BIM)
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
• Contributing to service and process improvements
Training Details:
• Study through blended learning (weekly online tutor-led sessions + independent assignments)
• 6 hours per week dedicated training time (Friday 9:00am–3:00pm)
• Two block release sessions (2.5 days each) at the training provider’s head office
• End-Point Assessment (project report, Q&A session, and professional interview)
Qualifications gained:
• Level 3 Construction Support Technician Apprenticeship (CIOB)
• BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment (Pearson)
• Functional Skills English & Maths (if required)
Candidate Requirements:
• Strong communication and organisation skills
• A keen interest in construction and project management
• Analytical mindset and attention to detail
• Basic IT confidence (Word, Outlook, Excel, CAD experience beneficial but not required)
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• No prior industry experience required — just reliability and enthusiasm

• Over the course of the year, apprentices will also spend 2.5 days on site and 2.5 days completing exams as part of their formal training and assessment requirements
