The Catering Operations Manager will provide senior-level leadership in the development and management of all patient feeding and retail catering facilities within the hospital.

You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining robust systems and processes that meet Government, Trust, and company legislation, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and service delivery.

Leading a multi-faceted team, you will provide clear, consistent direction and foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.

With a strong focus on both patient care and customer experience, you will play a key role in enhancing catering services across the hospital, balancing operational efficiency with quality and innovation.

This is a highly visible leadership role that offers the opportunity to shape catering provision within a healthcare environment, making a meaningful impact on patient wellbeing and visitor experience alike.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all patient feeding and retail catering operations across the hospital site, ensuring compliance with company policies and hospital food standards.
Maintain high standards of health, safety, hygiene, and food safety, ensuring safe delivery of services for patients and retail outlets.
Hold full financial responsibility for catering accounts, including budgeting, forecasting, sales targets, and cost control.
Plan, develop, and review catering offers in collaboration with SMEs, adapting to evolving guidance and customer needs.
Manage, develop, and support team members through clear objectives, training, and personal development plans.
Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including Trust staff, clients, and external partners.
Monitor and report on service delivery, implementing continuous improvements to meet targets and enhance performance.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

Food Safety qualification (minimum Level 3, Level 4 preferred).
Level 3 Health & Safety certification.
Experience in food handling, retail catering, and patient catering (healthcare experience desirable).
Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing large teams.
Excellent customer interaction skills with a service-focused approach.
IT proficiency, particularly Microsoft Office.
Highly organised, able to prioritise and perform well under pressure.
