Contract: Full Time and Part- Time Salary: £12.70 Per Hour Shift Type: Nights Contracted hours: Full Time and Part TimeWe are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our specialist dementia team at Oaklea Dementia Care Unit, a newly refurbished 26-bed unit within Ashlea Court Care Home. Part of Willinbrook Healthcare, the specialist division of Care Concern Group, Oaklea provides high-quality, person-centred care for residents living with dementia in a warm, structured, and homely environment.
Whether you are experienced or new to care, this is a unique opportunity to develop specialist dementia skills through dedicated training and hands-on mentoring while making a real difference in the lives of our residents.
What We Offer
- £12.70 per hour
- Contracted to 44 hours per week
- Paid PVG, Uniform provided, Pension scheme
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)
What You Will Do
You will provide person-centred care that promotes dignity, comfort, and quality of life for residents living with dementia. You will build meaningful connections, supporting emotional wellbeing through positive engagement and communication. Your role will include assisting residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and hydration, and monitoring and reporting any changes in their physical or emotional health to the nursing team. You will help maintain a calm, structured, and dementia-friendly environment, encouraging residents to participate in meaningful activities that spark joy, connection, and independence.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome both experienced carers and those new to the care sector. You will have a compassionate approach, genuinely caring about older people and committed to making a difference. Previous experience in a care home or hospital is welcome, particularly supporting people with dementia, but not essential. You will be a supportive team player, willing to learn and develop in a close-knit team, collaborating with nurses, colleagues, and families.
