Summary

Do you want to work for an organisation that values difference and includes everyone?

Then the Environment Agency is the organisation for you.

Your work will help the Environment Agency Inspect, repair, maintain and manage our flood risk assets and work with others to ensure delivery of river maintenance across the area. Our flood risk assets (such as flood walls, embankments and flood storage areas) reduce flood risk to people and properties throughout Hertfordshire and North London.

You will help manage our asset data to ensure it is of the best quality and can be relied upon to inform our future investment programme and make evidence-based decisions across our asset management activities. You will also assist other members of the team to help ensure that projects delivering refurbishment to and replacement of, or new flood risk management assets provide the most appropriate long-term solutions and are safe for us to maintain.

You will also assist other members of the team to help ensure that projects delivering new flood risk management assets provide the most appropriate long-term solutions and are safe for us to maintain.

You will use your excellent communication skills to liaise with a range of internal colleagues, external organisations and individually with customers who require help or information from us.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do.
You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

Asset management plays a huge part in the work that the Environment Agency does; reducing the impact of flooding and protecting communities.

We look after a diverse range of assets in our area and such a broad scope of work calls for diverse, multi-skilled teams.
