The Opportunity:
Given the staff retention within this business and them only focussing on very notable major high end schemes they very rarely have job openings in their Midlands region. This is a very rare opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team and take the lead on a major flagship scheme of extremely high quality. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the successful delivery of a high-profile scheme while building your career with a contractor known for innovation and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage commercial aspects of projects, from procurement through to final accounts.
- Prepare, negotiate, and analyse costs for tenders and contracts.
- Provide accurate forecasting of project costs and value.
- Ensure effective cost control, cash flow management, and profitability.
- Work closely with project teams to monitor progress and manage risks.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure contractual compliance.
- Support the delivery of value engineering and sustainable construction solutions.
Key Requirements:
- Holds a degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Has proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry (main contractor experience preferred).
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent knowledge of construction contracts and procurement.
- Able to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and accuracy.
- A collaborative team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills
