Summary

Finance Apprentice – Fixed Term

Location: Wakefield College

Salary: £24,918 - £26,435 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

This role will be fixed term for 2 years.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Apprentice to join our friendly, supportive, and positive Finance team. The role is varied with lots of opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge. You will provide administrative support within the Purchase, Income and Management Accounts section of the Finance Department, with the opportunity to gain an industry recognised accountancy qualification.

You will be required to:


Ensure the accurate and timely input of purchase order requests
Assist with counter and telephone enquiries from students and staff
Assist with enquiries from staff and suppliers in relation to the purchase ledger
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of College budgets and financial forecasts


As a Finance Apprentice you should be confident, well organised, and proactive with good IT skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. This is a diverse role where you will be building relationships with curriculum and support staff, and many other stakeholders.

You will have:


GCSE in Maths and English grade A*-C/9-4 or equivalent
Confidence in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A Levels grade A*-C, Level 3, or equivalent would be desirable but not essential
A Level 2 Accountancy qualification or equivalent would be desirable, not essential
