Summary
Maelor Forest Nurseries is a leading wholesale nursery producing over 32 million bare root trees and shrubs annually for the commercial forestry industry. All our plants are grown from seeds or cuttings on the nursery, and we are now looking to expand our team for the upcoming season.
Positions Available:
1. Lifting Operatives
Job Role: Working in the field, you will walk behind a lifting machine, collecting small trees and placing them into crates. This is an outdoor role, and you will work in all weather conditions, often on wet and muddy terrain.
2. Fleecing Operatives
Job Role: You will be responsible for covering seedlings with fleece to protect them from birds. This is outdoor fieldwork, requiring resilience in all weathers.
3. Grading Operatives
Job Role: Based in a large shed, you will stand at a workbench for up to 3-4 hours at a time, counting and sizing plants into batches.
Working Hours:
• Monday to Friday, 7:45 am – 4:30 pm
• Optional Saturday mornings may be available during peak times.
Requirements:
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (for lifting and fleecing roles)
• Good physical fitness
• Reliability and punctuality
• Willingness to work as part of a team
