Summary
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at North Hertfordshire District Council to work within a busy and friendly accounts environment, whilst studying for an accountancy qualification.
Based within the Controls, Risk and Performance team, the Apprentice will be relied upon to provide finance support and assistance to both the Accounts team and the wider organisation. In return, you will gain a wide range of experience within a team that covers Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cashiering and Reconciliations, whilst studying for an apprenticeship qualification with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).
Working under the supervision of the Controls, Risk & Performance Manager, the variety of tasks to be completed includes:
• Reconciliation of Control Accounts
• Analysis of financial data
• Investigation of discrepancies and Posting entries on the accounting system
• Responding to queries and information requests from internal and external customers.
Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship or in a similar subject.
The experience you will bring
Suiting someone who is keen to make a difference and would like to work within the public sector, we are looking for a capable candidate who has good attention to detail, excellent communication and organisation skills, with a good standard of literacy and numeracy, and who likes to work as part of a team.
As part of the Apprenticeship Scheme, you will be required to undertake an apprenticeship qualification.
