Your role and responsibilities
- You will work in a varied and rewarding role, supporting the Suffolk Climate Action Team to deliver projects to Suffolk’s communities, residents, schools and businesses, in response to the Suffolk Climate Emergency Plan. This will include community energy projects and providing administrative support.

- You will play a key role in assisting Suffolk Councils' work towards a Net Zero Suffolk by providing support to members of the SCCP which includes all Suffolk’s Local Authorities as well as other organisations working across the county.

You will need
- to be able to work well independently as well as in a team, be highly organised and have a willingness to learn. Your positive attitude, commitment and enthusiasm will mean that you can prioritise work and be self-motivated. Our ideal candidate will have an understanding and interest in climate change and sustainability
- to be a people person and be able to develop relationships with stakeholders to help the team build on work already being done to support communities, residents, schools and businesses
- real passion to achieve environmental improvements and collaborate with others to meet the challenges and opportunities of climate change
- to be IT literate and have high standards of written and verbal communication. You will also need to have a minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C or 4-9 (or equivalent) including mathematics, English and a science subject, and hold a minimum of 62 UCAS points, or equivalent.
The team
The Apprentice Project Support Officer role will sit within the dynamic Suffolk Climate Action Team, working primarily with the Project Officer and SCCP Partnership Manager to deliver projects which support Suffolk Councils' work towards a Net Zero Suffolk. The team works in a flexible way and embraces hybrid working where this improves efficiency in the delivery of our shared objectives.
You will also work with members of the SCCP, which includes all Suffolk’s Local Authorities as well as other organisations working locally.
