Requirements
You will have an HNC/Level 3 in Housing or a relevant subject and a qualification meeting SSSC registration requirements for Housing Support Workers.Responsibilities
You will provide support to residents at our Honeygreen Unit who in the defined groups have been identified as vulnerable. This support will help individuals manage their accommodation successfully and assist them to move into permanent accommodation. Support may also be provided to prospective tenants to help them gain access to accommodation which best meets their needs and wants, reduce the risk of eviction, anti-social behaviour, debt and other threats to an individual’s security of tenure. These tenants may be receiving voluntary support or may be conditional and related to a Short Scottish Secure Tenancy.The Individual
You will have experience in housing and/or support service provision or have a social care background or have experience of multi-agency working. You will have the ability to work with minimum supervision.You will be able to show empathy for those requiring advice and support, good organisational and people skills and a team player. Possible weekend and evening work may be required.
You will be able to undertake some evening and weekend working if required.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
