Summary


We have an exciting opportunity for 2 healthcare support workers for our Outpatients and Treatment Room in Blandford Hospital.

The role of the healthcare support worker within outpatients and the treatment is to support clinicians in clinics and treatments. The role requires various clinical skills, organisational skills, good time keeping, excellent communication skills and above all compassion and empathy.

The post is for 20 hours per week. The post holder may be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

To support Clinicians in the running of efficient and effective Out Patients clinics and treatment

Attending Mandatory training sessions, staff meetings and keeping up to date with Trust Policies and procedures.

Preparing clinic notes and list prep and the facilitating of clinics for different specialities. Undertaking self led tasks at the discretion of the Out Patients sister/Trained clinical staff.

Supporting with extended clinical skills such as venepuncture, ECG's, ophthalmology tests, Urine flow analysis, basic observations.

Assisting the registered nurse in the admission and discharge of patients following minor procedures within the treatment room.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
