Who we need
We’re seeking a passionate, driven individual to join our Apprenticeships Team at Nottingham College – someone who genuinely cares about making a difference in the lives of young people. This is a unique opportunity to work within our Ofsted Outstanding Residential Provision, providing support, guidance, and enrichment to apprentices in a residential setting. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our apprentices have an exceptional experience, both academically and personally.
As our new Wellbeing Coordinator, you’ll work alongside our current Wellbeing Coordinator, the Head of Student Experience for Apprenticeships, and the wider Wellbeing team to develop and deliver a vibrant Wellbeing and Enrichment programme. You’ll engage with apprentices directly in the residential setting, gaining first-hand insight into their experience and helping to shape improvements that make a real difference in their lives.
Key duties of the role include:
- Champion the Student Experience – ensure apprentices feel supported, valued, and motivated, especially within the residential setting.
- Translate Feedback into Action – gather and act on apprentices feedback from both college and residential environments, driving meaningful improvements.
- Safeguarding First – act as the first point of contact for any safeguarding concerns, providing timely support to keep apprentices safe and supported.
- Collaborate & Lead – support the cross-College Safeguarding Network, sharing best practice and continuously improving the College’s approach for apprenticeships.
- Enhance Residential Life – actively engage with apprentices in the residential provision, helping create a positive, safe, and enriching environment where every student can thrive.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated professional committed to delivering the highest standards in student support and wellbeing. You will champion a positive student experience across a diverse, multi-site organisation, inspiring and motivating colleagues while fostering collaborative relationships with partners. You’ll approach challenging situations with confidence, using your problem-solving skills to deliver practical, solution-focused outcomes.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Highly effective organisational and prioritisation skills, ensuring tasks and initiatives are managed efficiently.
- Experience in a safeguarding role, handling complex issues such as abuse, neglect, radicalisation, and CSE.
- Strong knowledge of current safeguarding legislation, statutory requirements, and relevant guidance.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive and complex situations with professionalism and discretion.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, mediation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people, parents/carers, colleagues, and other professionals.
