Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC Foundation team as a Impact & Insights Department Manager.

As the Impact & Insights Department Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that the Liverpool Football Club Foundation (LFCF) can demonstrate the impact of its work to wide range of stakeholders including staff, trustees, funders, the communities in which LFCF operates and LFC fans across the world.

You will have vast experience of evidence-based impact, ensuring we remain leaders in our sector for measuring social value and social return on investment. You will also be responsible for data analysis and using databases to manage both our internal programme data and externally funded programmes. The role will lead on generating academic publications and research papers with universities.

You will also manage a team so will need to have experience of mangaing people and be an excellent networker with both internal and external stakeholders. The role requires an inquiring mind and excellent attention to detail. You will need experience of designing and implementing a wide range of date capture tools, analysing data and measuring social value.

What will you be doing?

Impact Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and deliver the Foundation’s impact strategy, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead the creation and execution of the annual impact and insights operational plan.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and delivery teams to monitor progress against our theory of change and evaluation framework.
  • Oversee social value and SROI reporting, working with independent research partners and the Club’s impact team.
  • Benchmark our performance using verifiable data and sector standards.

Data Collection & Analysis

  • Ensure robust data collection and analysis processes are in place across all programmes.
  • Design inclusive and effective data-gathering tools tailored to diverse beneficiary needs.
  • Maximise the use of platforms such as Salesforce and Power BI to support internal and external reporting.
  • Provide training and support to staff to ensure consistent and accurate data collection.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection legislation and ethical research standards.

Reporting & Communication

  • Produce high-quality, data-driven reports for senior management, trustees, funders, and community stakeholders.
  • Translate complex data into accessible insights through engaging written communications.
  • Lead the production of the Foundation’s annual Impact Report.
  • Develop compelling case studies and identify opportunities to showcase our work at conferences and sector events.

Business Development & Innovation

  • Build and maintain a strong network of impact and evaluation professionals.
  • Represent the Foundation on key sector groups, including the Premier League Charitable Fund.
  • Identify and support funding opportunities that align with our evidence-based approach.
  • Keep the organisation informed of emerging trends and innovations in impact measurement.

Team & Budget Management

  • Line manage the Impact & Insight team, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
  • Manage the annual impact and insights budget effectively.
  • Ensure safeguarding is embedded in all aspects of impact work.

Who are we looking for?

We’re seeking a candidate with recent, significate experience in impact measurement, research, or evaluation roles, ideally within the charity, public, or community sectors. You’ll have a strong understanding of evaluation design and methods, and be confident in generating statistical and impact data to inform strategic decisions. A Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field is essential. You’ll be highly skilled in collecting and analysing both quantitative and qualitative data, particularly in relation to KPIs, and experienced in maintaining robust monitoring and reporting systems. Advanced ICT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel, are required, along with proficiency in data platforms such as Salesforce and Power BI. You’ll be able to translate complex findings into clear, compelling insights for a range of audiences, and have a solid grasp of data management principles and terminology.
