Job Title: Learning Support Mentor - Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Location: South Manchester
Salary: £100 - £120 - Based on experience
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (with potential for permanent placement)
Start Date: September 2025

Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs (SEN)? Hays Education is recruiting for a Learning Support Mentor to join a dynamic and inclusive Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students who face barriers to learning due to social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN, including SEMH needs, ADHD, and autism
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to promote engagement and progress
  • Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Foster positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to student reviews

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally in a PRU or alternative provision
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students and staff
  • Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or SEN support (desirable but not essential)
