This role is key to ensuring high-quality design support across manufacturing operations, with a focus on structural and systems modifications that improve production efficiency, cost, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design investigations and develop technical solutions for modifications to type design, flow mods, and other production-related tasks.
- Ensure all design, airworthiness, and safety requirements are met, collaborating with cross-functional teams for integrated solutions.
- Act as a lead design engineer with recognised design authorisation, providing technical guidance and governance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across methods, processes, and capabilities.
- Report on critical technical issues and mentor engineering team members.
Main Activities:
- Approve and authorise design solutions, including major/minor modifications and design query notes.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring, helping to identify and close skill gaps within the team.
- Ensure compliance with design standards and liaise with stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., CVE, Chief Engineer, Configuration Management).
- Support airworthiness certification and configuration management processes.
What We're Looking For:
- Industry-recognised design signatory (Design Approval/Authorisation).
- Strong technical leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Innovative mindset with a proactive approach to risk and opportunity management.
- Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
