Summary

Area Manager | Scotland (Predominantly M8 Corridor) | Full Time | £32,500 rising to £34,000

Our client is a privately owned company with over 50 years of experience in the facilities management industry. They provide a “one-stop” solution by offering a comprehensive range of services across mainland UK, from contract cleaning to legionella and other specialist soft FM services, as well as the supply of our own-brand products and chemicals.

Primary Goals

To effectively manage and be responsible for:

Approved GCC Contractor Management & Recruitment

Client Management, Retention & Service Delivery in accordance with our contractual obligations, to drive Territory Growth and Development

Duties and Responsibilities /What will your Role look like?

Developing Business:

• To increase territory revenue and income to meet set Targets/KPI’s
• To attend all new Sales Opportunities presented by Marketing or any other source for Regular Cleaning, and Ad Hoc Specialist Services (ATEX/High Level, Carpet, Hard Floor & Upholstery Cleaning).
• Manage Sales Pipeline effectively to ensure all sales opportunities are progressed in a timely and professional manner. Resolve any queries/concerns raised by the prospective client, ensuring GCC are the service provider of choice
• To identify and develop ‘Self-Generated’ sales opportunities that are aligned to your strategic short/medium/long-term plans for territory development and progression
• Prior to securing any Acceptance for all New Contracts, ensure that you have the most suitable, approved GCC Operatives in place, ready to start.
• Secure a ‘Finder’s Fee’, ensuring the ‘best fit’ Approved GCC Contractors are capable of carrying out all new work in accordance with the documented procedures.
• As part of strategic planning aligned to Territory Objectives, work on ‘Development’ & ‘Secondary’ postcode areas as reviewed with the Regional Manager & Operations Director, which have the potential to become ‘Primary’ postcode areas.

Contractor & GCC Direct Staff Management

• To be responsible for the recruitment, training, & management of all new and existing GCC Contractors. This is an ongoing cycle that is a key requirement for territory development
• To effectively manage GCC Contractor coverage in all areas of the territory, ensuring that at all times there are sufficient options/flexibility in the Primary Area and Development Postcode Areas. This must be built into strategic short, medium and long-term territory planning and must be continuously reviewed.
• To conduct Contractor Business Reviews as programmed in your CRM Diary to ensure
• To recruit, train and manage GCC Direct staff as required to ensure that all staff introduced to any job are fully trained, knowledgeable and competent to carry out their job safely and professionally
• To have ongoing line management responsibility for GCC Direct staff and to carry out any HR processes as necessary.
• To help our GCC Contractors by giving advice and guidance on cleaning processes and working with GCC
• To run regular Cleaning Proficiency Courses (CPC) training for new and existing contractors to ensure the service being delivered is to the highest standards. In addition, to ensure we are compliant with GCC Processes and H & S Regulations

Account Management

• To take the lead responsibility of managing existing customers and to take actions to retain and develop their business by understanding and meeting their ongoing requirements.
• To maintain an account management process based on the minimum agreed parameters for identified customers. (Platinum, Gold, Silver & Bronze)
• To be reasonably available outside of normal working hours to take calls and carry out certain tasks in response to customers’ concerns.
• To ensure that contracts are achieved and fulfilled in all respects in line with the specification (including the provision of cover for absences- with a ‘no missed cleans‘ ethos and achieve targets for fulfilment).
• To work with the Helpdesk and, where necessary, visit customers on site to understand and resolve any complaints and termination notices and follow the correct processes. To then communicate with Helpdesk Advisors, contractors and GCC Direct staff to ensure client issues are resolved and that all actions and outcomes are recorded on CRM.
• To provide input into the overall level of customer service we provide and recommend positive improvements in our processes
• To promote the full range of services and to develop the sales of all cleaning products and supplies.
• To ensure that all processes are correctly followed and that any documentation required in accordance with the processes is correctly and accurately submitted within the required timescales.
• To accurately complete all required management reports or plans on time and to produce ad hoc reports, as required
· To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the company executives.

• Experience in sales and account management, preferably in the service industry
• Practical-minded, able to identify solutions when dealing with clients
• Experience in staff recruitment, training, and management
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge/experience of contractor management
• Knowledge of TUPE process
• Good understanding of the cleaning industry and cleaning processes (preferably BICS trained)
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety aspects, including COSHH
• Able to work flexible hours to meet client demands
• Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Sage CRM
• Full, valid UK driving license (maximum 3 penalty points)
