Summary

Job Description

Glasgow City Council is responsible for a large and diverse property portfolio which is integral to the delivery of public services. The Area Support Officer will play a key role within the council’s Property Asset Management team of Neighbourhoods, Regeneration & Sustainability, to help ensure our buildings are managed effectively. Key aspects of the role include: • Monitor, inspect, and support the delivery of projects and maintenance related activities within the council’s Education Estate. • Work closely with the wider council family, including ALEOs and other service departments, to respond to matters raised by Education Services and Heads of Establishment. • Provide advice and guidance to Heads of Establishment on building and grounds related matters. • Gain a working knowledge of the council’s Property Information Management System (PIMS). • Undertake property facilities management compliance surveys. • Liaise with customers and respond to complaints and enquiries. • Within your normal working hours, respond to security incidents and assist in the development and implementation of any mitigation measures to prevent future recurrence. • Budget monitoring. • Support in the day-to-day management of the Public Private Partnership (“PPP”) and Design, Build, Finance, and Maintain (“DBFM”) contract which collectively maintains 32x school properties through an external supply chain. • As the council’s secondary school PPP contract nears expiry in 2030, support contract handover related activities. • Oversee and monitor repair and maintenance work, lifecycle activities, and property adaptations within the PPP and DBFM estate, to ensure a high standard of work and that the council’s assets remain safe, compliant, and support service objectives. • Work collaboratively with PPP an DBFM stakeholders to develop strong relationships and provide an effective service which delivers value to the council. • Provide day-to-day contract management support with respect to PPP and DBFM properties to ensure contract performance obligations are achieved by external partners.
