Summary

Job Summary:

The Hotel Maintenance Handyman is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the hotel remains in excellent operating condition. This includes guest room repairs, common area upkeep, basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC support, and general facility maintenance. The ideal candidate is proactive, responsive, and committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, lobby, restrooms, kitchen, pool area, and other public spaces.
• Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
• Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities and equipment to identify potential problems or safety hazards.
• Repair minor plumbing issues such as clogged drains and leaky faucets.
• Perform basic electrical repairs including replacing light fixtures, bulbs, and fuses.
• Paint and touch-up walls, doors, and furniture as needed.
• Maintain HVAC systems by changing filters and reporting larger issues to specialists.
• Ensure tools and maintenance equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Assist with furniture moves, event setups, and other general labor as needed.
• Follow all hotel safety procedures and protocols.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance worker, or in a similar role.
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Good physical condition with ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and stand for long periods.
• Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in hotel or hospitality maintenance.
• Basic understanding of building codes and safety regulations.
• Bilingual (depending on hotel location and guest demographics).

Work Environment:
• Indoor and outdoor work environment.
• May be exposed to varying temperatures, chemicals, and noise levels.
