Summary

Third in Charge – Level 3 Qualified – Up to £28,500



Our client is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Third in Charge to join their beautiful nursery, complete with thoughtfully designed age-specific areas and an inspiring outdoor garden. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Early Years professional who is confident in taking on leadership responsibilities, supporting the management team, and helping to deliver the very best standards of childcare and education.



As Third in Charge, you will play a vital role in supporting the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager in the smooth running of the nursery. This role is ideal for someone with strong Early Years knowledge, great organisational skills, and a genuine passion for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive.



What We’re Looking For



  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).

  • Previous experience in a senior role within a nursery or childcare setting.

  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and health & safety.

  • Ability to support and inspire a team of practitioners.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • A warm, approachable, and professional manner with children, families, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities



  • Support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery.

  • Take responsibility for the nursery in the absence of senior management.

  • Lead and motivate your room team to deliver high-quality care and learning.

  • Assist with planning, assessment, and implementation of the EYFS curriculum.

  • Build strong and supportive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

  • Ensure safeguarding and health & safety procedures are always followed.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and preparation for Ofsted inspections.
