The Role
We are looking for experienced people focused applicants to join an agile and flexible team of Library Assistants that supports all activities of Library Services during extended opening hours.

As a Library Assistant, you will provide an excellent standard of service to all our customers and visitors, encouraging them to explore and make use of all our services, supporting them in achieving their full potential.

About you:
• You must be committed to putting customers at the heart of service delivery and supporting day-to-day library operations.
• You should have excellent communication skills, be able to build excellent team working relationships, and complete tasks to a high standard.
• You need to respond calmly and professionally in busy situations
• You must be able to work independently, show initiative, and be flexible.

The Evening Library Assistant role is fixed-term until 20 September 2026, term-time only (39 weeks a year).

You are expected to work during all term time opening weeks (incl. Bank Holidays).

You will work three or four regular evening shifts, however good flexibility to support occasional shift cover is required. Usual shift patterns are:
• Mon -Thu (incl. Bank Holidays): 5pm - 10.15pm
• Fri 3:15pm – 7:15pm
