THE ROLE:
We are looking to appoint a well-organised, highly motivated individual to take the lead role in a project that aim to enhance the control of environmental dry surface biofilms. An important aspect of this role will focus on evaluating the impact of new biological formulations against medically relevant environmental dry surface. You will work with a range of diverse bacteria in the form of environmental dry surface biofilms, evaluate formulation efficacy and characteristics. You will work closely with an industrial partner and be responsible to for effectively communicationing on project progress and report.

This is an exciting opportunity to become a Cardiff University employee working at the Pharmaceutical Microbiology laboratory at the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

THE PERSON:
You will be a recent postgraduate with a PhD in Microbiology (or close to submission), and interest in infection prevention and control.

This position is full-time (35 hours per week) and is fixed term until 1 June 2026. This post will be based at the Cathays Campus.

Salary: £33,482 - £36,130 per annum (Grade 5). Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at bottom of scale unless in exceptional circumstances.
