About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a thriving and well-regarded secondary school in Kirklees. Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Knowledge of current educational policies and best practices.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality science lessons that inspire a love of learning.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Set high expectations for all students and challenge them to achieve their full potential.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work, resources, and assessment materials.
  • Participate in departmental and whole-school meetings, training, and events.
  • Maintain a stimulating and well-organised classroom environment, including effective displays.
  • Engage in the school's pastoral system, providing support and guidance to students.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/carers about student progress and well-being.
  • Promote and celebrate science through enrichment activities and extra-curricular clubs.
  • Contribute to the school's commitment to continuous improvement and academic excellence.
