Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency - Department for Transport Careers
We have an exciting opportunity for an Enforcement Support Officer to join our team. If you would like a job where no two days are the same and to also have the chance to make a real difference to Road Safety & Environmental Standards, then this is the role for you! You'll provide support by means of stopping vehicles for other enforcement staff, thus contributing to the maintenance and improvement of Road Safety & Environmental Standards. The role would require you to work to a 5-week rota consisting of early, late and night shifts, for this you will be rewarded with an attractive allowance for this.
Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
- Directing / causing vehicles to stop, using vehicles or other methods, to enable staff from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) to undertake road safety inspections.
- Contributing to the efficiency of roadside checks by making sure the equipment and vehicles are available and fit for use.
- Providing basic IT and clerical support during roadside checks, and other associated tasks.
- Carrying out minimum maintenance and upkeep of “High-Viz” vehicles (oil, water, tyre pressures & condition etc).
- Assisting in the administration of the check site by confirming staff resources are available.
- Assisting the Area Management Team in ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
